It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank O'Donoghue, former CEO of the Clonmel Chamber from 2007 to 2009. Frank made a positive and lasting impact on both the Chamber and the town of Clonmel, with his wealth of ideas and forward-thinking vision that continues to influence our community today.
Frank was deeply involved in numerous projects aimed at improving the public realm, and in many cases, he was ahead of his time. One notable example is his work in 2009, alongside Peter O’Donnell and others, on a project to connect the quays with Suir Island via a footbridge. Though still in development, this project is expected to come to fruition in the coming years, a testament to Frank’s lasting legacy and foresight.
During his tenure as CEO of the Chamber, Frank significantly widened the membership base and introduced many initiatives that have since become standard practice for Chambers of Commerce throughout the country. His passion for enhancing the business environment and his innovative approaches to community development continue to serve as a model for chamber leadership across Ireland.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Frank’s wife Ann, his family, and all who had the privilege of working with him. His visionary leadership and dedication to Clonmel will be remembered and celebrated for years to come.
